Jog Fall is the second highest waterfall in India in Shimoga District, Karnataka. It is created by the Sharavathi river and has height of 830 ft. This waterfall is also known as Gerosappa Falls. This magnificent falls are a major tourist attraction in Karnataka, the spellbinding view of which creates a truly memorable experience.

Murdeshwar is a Town in Bhatkal Taluka in north Karnataka. Murdeshwar is another name of Lord Shiva. This Town is famous for the world’s second largest Shiva statue which is 123 feet in height. The sight of sunlight falling on the statue is one to behold as the statue has been strategically placed in a way that it sparkles when the morning light falls on itThe entrance of the temple, also called as ‘Raja Gopura’ which is 237 feet in height and you can witness the breathtaking view of the Shiva Statue and surrounding area from the top of this gopura.

Unchalli Falls (also called Lushington Falls) is perhaps one of India’s most spectacular waterfalls. Its rather unusual shape and its dramatic scenery amongst the lush and remote forested hills of the Uttara Kannada District. This waterfall originates from the Aghanashini River with height of 450 ft and is set amidst dense forests. 

Banavasi  is one of the oldest towns in the Karnataka and located at a distance of 25 km from Sirsi town in a picturesque location. Banavasi lies deep in the rain forests of Western Ghats on the banks of River Varadha. Travelling in the region of Banavasi is a pleasant.

The Banavasi is grown up around a famous temple built in 9th century. It is dedicated Lord Shiva worshipped as Lord Madhukeshwara. The presiding deity of Madhukeshwara is a honey colored Shiva Linga dedicated during the time of Mayura Varma, the ruler of Kadambas.

Yana is mainly famous for its two magnificent black rock formations which are known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara. These unique rock formations have made Yana a popular destination for pilgrims, trekkers, and nature lovers. The huge black rocks are composed of solid black, crystalline Karst limestone.

Yana is located at a distance of 25 km from Kumta, a coastal town and 40 km from Sirsi. Yana is located in the lush evergreen forests of the Western Ghats in Uttara Kannada district. 

Tour Itinerary:

·        23 August : Board Matsyagandha Express from LTT at 3:20 pm

·        24 August : Get Down at Murudeshwara Station @ 5:45 am, Freshen up &  Murdeshwar temple till 8:30 am and head to  Jog Falls by 9:00 am

·        Reach Jog Falls by 11.00 am & explore the place

·        Proceed to Banwasi temple. Night stay at Sirsi. 

·        25 August:  Unchalli falls in the morning, later move to Yana caves

·      Move towards Kumta station to take Matsyagandha Express @ 5.38 pm

·        26 August: Reach LTT by 6:35 AM
